Keep dreaming, history will repeat itself!

Recently liberal politicians in Egypt are watching the development in political life and finally realizing the scenario that I claim I saw much earlier on the future of Egypt:

A new Egypt either ruled by the MB.

In an act of desperation, they started hoping the MB will take the same line as the AKP party in Turkey and hoping they can keep there conservative politic in parallel of keeping some windows still opened for secular view.

In the few lines below, I have one simple message for them: Keep dreaming!

Few weeks ago, I wrote an article on this subject trying to underline the difference between the Turkish and Egyptian society, I did not bother to talk again on this subject because when I analyzed my blog audience, I realized that most of my readers are from UK, USA, Greece and very few from Egypt.

But recently, I read a statement from one of the most famous Egyptian Copt business man and politician with a secular view saying ''If the MB follows the AKP politics, I will tell them you were right''.

Very strange statement that is unexplainable to me, later in this article you will see why.

So this time I am not writing for my few Egyptian friends who will happen to read this lines instead to my American friends to tell them that over the years the USA foreign policy have managed to make the country unpopular with the mass of people in ME and elsewhere.
Now the very few who were wrongly believing the USA is supporting liberal and Democratic forces in the ME, realize clearly that this is just a fantasy.

Lets just go few years ago when there were no fanatics or very limited neither in Egypt nor in any other Muslim country, the WWII was over and the world was seeing two great power and ideology the USA and the Soviet union.

communism were gaining ground everywhere exploring the poverty of people, than someone back there in USA got the dramatic idea of  ''The Green Belt Theory'' to stop the advance of the communism by creating an immune zone that communism can not penetrate.

In few words, the idea is simple, you want to stop communism?
Invest in religion and let them fight for you!!!!!

From Pakistan to Iran through Turkey to all the Middle East.

While Muhammad Ali Jannah established all the base for a creation of a secular Pakistan in the 40's, little he knew that few years later, the folks in USA will invest there time and money in destroying his ideas by supporting Dia Al Haq and injecting maximum religion dose in the society to fight communism represented in the leftist opposition opponent Mr. Zul Faqar Butto.
how could Jannah have imagined that his dream will end up with a country that enforce religion on its citizen thanks to our friends cross the Atlantic and there genius foreign policy, well I have one word to tell them:

Enjoy the Taliban!

The same story was repeated exactly with the smallest details in Egypt with Sadat repeating the same scenario just few years later, same result:

Look to the FBI top wanted people list!

What president Obama fails to see intentionally or unintentionally, is the difference between the USA as a religious and conservative society that tolerates and ACCEPT ''the other'' which is not the case in the Middle East.

The idea of creating a new Green Belt again by supporting religious conservative getting into power and hope they fight extremist for you even if it works now it is just creating bigger problem for the future.

Returning to the AKP, the basic difference between the AKP in Turkey and there cousin the MB in Egypt is that the first took the country with a strong secular and liberal orientation and they are just in a transition period for transforming it to a conservative society .
So to expect the MB ruling a country like Egypt with a very conservative population and monoculture society and transforming it into liberal and secular country is like expecting from Karl Marx to promote Capitalism, even that would be easier and imaginable that the first!

A deeper look on recent development in Turkey make it easy to spot with no mistakes the strong measures taken by the AKP to neutralize the army (historically protecting the secular values) and systematically destroying all strong symbols of secularity in Turkey.

But obviously they realize that this is not enough and the big chalenge and change will not happen till the strong base of the modern secular Turkey is changed: The constitution.

The law in Turkey to change constitution require 3/5 majority and while the AKP has usually over 50% in the assembly they did not had enough seats to do the last changes yet.

Few weeks ago the AKP changed an individual privacy law to prepare the ground for there new political massacre of the oppositions party by making a new law that take away this protection of individual privacy and make legal a release of tapes that were illegally recorded under the claim that it is legal to be released if it have been published already!

This scandal known as ''SEX-TAPES'' scandal has already claimed till now 7 strong candidates from the opposition MHP party and the heads continue to fall!

So soon, when the AKP will have the majority required for the constitution change and destroying the last hurdle to de-secularize the country lets talk of making of Turkey another Egypt and of Egypt another Saudi!

The litle hopes one had from the secular minority in Egypt is quickly fading with the WIND when you hear such statement from the famous politician and businessman who is considered by many to be the USA man in Egypt and listening to him hoping that the MB will follow AKP road!

Either he does not know what the AKP are doing and that will be sad from a politician or he do know and following a shameful hidden agenda.
If the MB follows the AKP footstep and I am sure they will than you can only expect more trouble.

One last request to the Christian minority in Egypt.

Please stop posting videos on social networks just to make a point, this is not your battle to fight, this is not minority battle to fight, it is up to the majority to decide if they want to live under religion dictatorship as in the middle age or take a step to the 21st century.

Your fight is to have your say in politics, to vote...etc but for sure our job is not to point our finger on what might be wrong in your view in other believes.

Take an example the big joke they started on the most popular newspaper in Egypt AL-AHRAM which is clearly controlled by whoever is in power in Egypt as it is publicly owned, launching a poll on the second article of the constitution few days before the referendum just to scare the majority of simple people who does not even know to read and make sure they vote yes in the referendum to keep old constitution as if the religion was at risk while the referendum had nothing to do with the second article!!

Or as if a change to a new constitution will replace constitution by the bible in a country with 90% Muslim! or by a law that forbid Egyptian to be Muslim!!!!
Clearly the strategy worked but this is just an example how you got manipulated and started your campaign by email or in social network thinking you can make a change, which was immediately explored by the corrupted media and amplified.
As a result, scaring moderate Muslim and make them imagine they need to protect there religion by keeping old constitution as if they were living in anti-Muslim country!!!!

The result, many moderate Muslim felt the needs to vote no for a new constitution just thinking they need to protect religion, believe it or not, this is the result you will get, you are just being used as a threat to moderate believers who rejects by nature fanatic religion without your videos.


Time for bed may be I can have a better dream!
